Home Is Where the Heart Is 2012This is fully beaded scenery from the Wind River Reservation, WY. A house standing alone, half burnt and still erect. The back drop is the Wind River Mountains. The house signifies the erect physical body, of people who lose themselves. While they still have a physical body; their souls are still searching for a home.The street signs reflect the names used in cities around the United States that utilize Native American Names as a street name. Sometimes that is the only way our current population knows the names of the 565 tribes today. The beaded scenery is completed on a cow hide signifying our relationship with wildlife. The bead work took three months to complete.
The Wind River Mountains 2012I created a beautiful vessel from an empty alcohol shooter. Bead by bead, this scenery came together. Showing that even something that is thought of to be useless, it can be recreated into something meaningful. As with life, you can pick yourself up after an addiction, and recreate yourself.

#NODAPL 2016The first time in over 100 years since a tipi like this has been erected in Standing Rock. All in protest of #nodapl. This is an image that I edited, reflecting the original image to create a water like reflection. The water protectors are working for our future generations.

Heart of the People 2016 InstallationThis installation is a reflection of the government encouraged buffalo hunts that went on in 1868-1881 killing more than 31,000,000 buffalo. I created a buffalo heart using colored pencils and I copied the heart 565 times, for each of the federally recognized tribes. This mound is a sad reminder of what has happened to the indigenous people of America and its main food source for the plains Indians. However, it is redeeming because we are still here to remind the government that we have not forgotten and we will not disappear.
